Brady Varsity Baseball 3

With 1st place on the line, Brady Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 12 – 4 loss to Comanche on Tuesday. Kasen Baronet led off on the hill for Brady going 3 2/3 innings giving up 5 runs on 7 hits with 6 strikeouts. Gonzalo Morales and Caleb Galindo provided relief for the Bulldogs.

Comanche tallied 15 hits in the game and smacked three homeruns on the day. On the other hand, Brady managed 5 hits in the contest. Dylan Raybion, Tyler Vaughn, Benjamin Galindo, Caleb Galindo, and Marshall Schmitz each collected 1 hit to lead Brady offensively. Morales, Schmitz, and Vaughn each had a stolen base in the game.

 

On Thursday evening, Tyler Vaughn threw a gem for Brady shutting out the Dragons with a score of 3 – 0. Pitching was strong on both sides as Brady gutted out a tough district win against Bangs.   Vaughn went a full 7 innings giving up 0 runs on 4 hits with 6 strikeouts and 4 walks.

Brady tallied a total of 10 hits on the day. Caleb Galindo, Gonzalo Morales, and Benjamin Galindo led offensively for the Bulldogs each going 2 for 3 at the plate. Walker Bauer drove in all 3 runs for the Bulldogs. He went 1 for 2 with a double and a sac fly. Kasen Baronet, Galindo, Morales, and Vaughn all had steals for Brady.

 

Brady JV

On Tuesday, Brady lost to a talented Comanche JV 16 -4. Comanche would start off hot scoring 5 runs with 2 outs in the top of the 1st and added another 8 runs in the 4th. Comanche had a total of 12 hits on the day.

A positive for Brady came in the 4th when Bulldogs put up 3 runs. With a runner on 1st and 1 out, Kelton Bernard hit a line drive triple down the left line. The next batter, Dylan Evridge brought Bernard home on a long fly double to left field. Evridge would advance to 3rd after a single by Garrett Hill. Zach Lozano knocked Evridge home on a ground out to short.

Evridge led the Bulldogs at the plate going 2 for 2 with a double. Bernard, Lozano, and Anthony Cook also contributed with 1 run batted in each.

 

On Thursday, Brady JV fell to Bangs 8 – 7 despite a strong offensive performance. In a game that saw 5 lead changes between the two teams, Brady had an opportunity to regain it in the top of the 6th with 1 out but were unable to capitalize with the bases full.

Anthony Cook led off on the hill for Brady going 4 innings surrendering 5 earned runs on 7 hits with 4 strikeouts and 3 walks. Garrett Hill provided relief for Brady going 1 inning giving up 0 runs on 0 hits with 2 strikeouts.

Hill led offensively going 2 for 2 at the plate with a walk. Dylan Evridge went 1 for 2 with 2 runs batted in. Brant Farmer, Ryan Medrano, and Colton Coleman each had 1 run batted in. Mark Valdez had a stolen base for Brady.
