Bulldogs News · JV Football vs Dublin

Last Thursday during the Varsity open week, your JV Bulldogs traveled to Dublin to take on the Lions. This game made up for the schedule change we had to make Varsity-wise with Dublin a couple of weeks ago. It was a hard-fought game on both sides of the ball with Dublin edging out the Bulldogs late 22-20.

Offensively the Bulldogs struggled early to get any momentum going but came on strong behind stout running performances from Justin Morgan and Jacob Wernecke. Mark Valdez and Cody McBee also helped ignite the offense by connecting with each other on a reverse pass thrown by Valdez.

Defensively the Bulldogs were led by safety Drake Bryant who had two interceptions, both of which led to offensive touchdowns. In front of Bryant, the defensive front seven helped cause a lot of pressure for the Lion offense. Linebackers Adrian Medrano and Cutter Johnson kept the Lion offense on their toes all night.

Overall, we are extremely proud of how our athletes fought through much adversity and battled to the final whistle. This loss brings our JV’s record to 1-4 in the preseason and we hope to build on what success we had in the preseason as we start district 0-0 versus a good Ingram squad.
